ecuador, the land of the origin of cocoa. misty clouds cover a beautiful landscape shaped by black lava, volcanoes and a green, thick forest of plants. this is one of the world's places that is most dense with vegetation. it is here in the amazon, that the cocoa tree has its origin. previously, it was believed that the cocoa tree had it's origin in mexico, but new findings show that it is from this primeval forest it came. maybe that is why the chocolate from ecuador is among the finest in the world. there are beans here that grow in different regions, and therefore taste very different. photos: susanna blavarg
